It needed an oem decomp, cleaning/porting the oiler, a bar oil cap and a little gasket on the air filter cover to seal it up. After those mods it runs great. The 55's did come with a rim sprocket, forgot that difference I have seen 2 new 55R's that also came with rim sprockets recently, even though the older ones came with a sprocket. I think too, that the 55R came with 2 dawgs and the 55 with only one. Priced lower than the "XP" variants but have the same hard parts like cases cranks and cylinders, these saw were built to work and last.They take the same .325 bar as a 50ish cc husky. If you are going with a one saw plan and getting into 24" wood, the 362 is the obvious choice. 50cc saws are nice, but only if you have a 70cc+ saw to handle the bigger stuff. A 60cc saw is a good one saw plan for most users, a 50cc is not.The 2 in 1 should drop the depth gauges at the same time, but it is not a progressive filing tool. The cutter height is lowered by filing it, and the angle of drop from the cutter to the depth gauge will get less and less. The bow bar was used extensively by the US Forest Service Hotshot fire fighting had crews in the south west in the '80s because it was very effective for cutting scrub, chaparral and other large brush to clear fire line. I have not seen any crews with these bars in a long time, not sure why.measuring piston to cylinder fit is an art form. pistons vary, as do cylinder bore. making a torque plate jig would take a while. honing process is an art form to get correct x-hatch and finish. even removing a hone takes care. cleaning cyl after honing properly takes a very long time. ring fitting, etc.A light 28 on a 660 won't balance very well. Personally, I think a 28 sprocket nose bar on a 660 will cut better with full comp chain. East coast wood cuts a lot better (and faster) with full comp in my experience.
