The Performance have a detatchable bell. And the neck profile (other than the bore) is very different, very Selmer-like (if not a Selmer-copy). Keys are different, key cups are very different. Even the key touches are different.Definitely need to fix the thumb. Should rest at about 2 o’clock overlapping the key. When you press the key, the joint should bend or slightly roll while staying put on the rest, no shift at all. The normal (as far as I know) black nickel saxophone finish is an extremely thin layer of actual plating, probably the thinnest of all platings used in sax finishes. I recently acquired a dixon tenor sax.I am a tech and am familiar with this sax.Their is currently a king listed on ebay item 130095114743 that is identical to this sax except it's silver nickel and mine is lacquer .The case looks identical to a B&S case from the gdr days.The resos in the horn are red like a yani.It is not made ... I bought a tenor Z and was able to hear it against a Keilwerth SX 90R and 1950's vintage Mark VI- all instruments, including the Z, were played by two pro musicians. The Z in my opinion blew the SX90R and the Mark VI away. The Z is on top for resonance and projection.
